The Project Lead of the Artificial Intelligence For Sustainable Development (AI4SD), Prof. Jerry John Kponyo, has paid a courtesy call on the French Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Jules-Armand Aniambossou, at his residence to discuss ongoing progress and deepen bilateral cooperation in the area of artificial intelligence.
The meeting underscored the strong support of the French government towards the AI4SD initiative, which it currently funds, and highlighted a shared commitment to harness AI for sustainable development across key sectors in Ghana.
During the discussions, both parties emphasized the need to foster innovation, build local capacity, and encourage knowledge exchange between French and Ghanaian institutions.
The Ambassador reiterated France’s dedication to advancing technological partnerships that drive inclusive growth and sustainable solutions in Africa.
The Project Lead expressed appreciation for the French government’s support and reiterated AI4SD’s mission to deploy artificial intelligence tools in areas such as agriculture, health, education, mining, energy, and for Persons with Disabilities (PWD).
Also present at the meeting were Dr. Diane Brami and Elisabeth Morzadec, members of the French Embassy staff, who contributed to the productive dialogue.
This engagement marks a significant step in strengthening Ghana-France relations through technology and innovation, with further collaborations expected in the coming months.
